- For TNC: Statemachine, real DPLL for RX including a digital squelch
- ===================================================================
-
- Statemachine, what's that?
-
- There are common problems on AFSK-Links, statemachine would often
- make the link better!
- The not well known statemachine replaces in a TNC2 (C) TTL-IC's in the
- RX-path between modemchip (AM 7911/TCM 3105) and Z80-SIO.
- This real (!) DPLL (in opposite of the TTL-IC's) improves impressively
- the RX-quality, specially at distortion of run-time (f.e. in cause of
- receiving by reflexion) by rebuilding RX-clock.
- A byproduct is the real digital squelch, no recognizing of tone's like
- with the XR2211. ISM of speech dosen't activate the DCD.
- Based on an idea of N7CL, DJ9KV made already in 1989 a circuit.
- Great need let me update the circuit, the new board is only 80x100mm
- (that's half an europe-board).
- You can get all signals, you need for statemachine, directly from TNC.
- At 'Landolt'-TNC use the 'Disconnect-Plug', at Eisch-TNC and TNC2 S
- (Kumm) you have to change only a bit more. Discriptions for these 3
- TNC's is available.
- Specially each entry for users (on AFSK) should have one!
- Sorry, but I don't know, whether this circuit is usable for others modems
- (like RMNC, PK232, KAM ...).
-
- Undrilled board cost including tested Eprom, IC's, sockets, discription
- (please tell for what typ of TNC) and Porto 28.- DM. Ask for more than
- 1 peace, or other combination.
